BANGSAR, 20 AUGUST 2015 – Media Prima Berhad (“MPB”, “Media Prima” or “the Group”), Malaysia’s leading fully-integrated media group has been awarded the Bronze Award in the Non-Traditional Annual Report – Media category at the 29th MerComm Annual Report Competition (“The International ARC Awards) 2015.

Recognised globally, the International ARC Awards organised by MerComm Inc. in New York is the world’s largest international competition honouring excellence in annual reports. The competition is open to corporations, small companies, government agencies, non-profit organisations and associations, as well as agencies and individuals involved in producing annual reports. Each annual report is judged against its success in communicating a company’s story; not on corporate profitability nor production, but on the values of creativity, clarity and effectiveness. Some of the elements considered in the judging of the annual reports included cover design, chairman’s statement, interior design, clarity of written text, presentation of corporate information, expression of financial data, and how well the spirit of the organisation is communicated.

The winners of this year’s awards were announced on MerComm Inc’s website on 19 August 2015.

Datuk Kamal Khalid, Chief Operation Officer (COO) of Group Shared Services, Media Prima said: :Media Prima is indeed honoured to receive this award. Each year, we put in tremendous efforts to produce Annual Reports which provide important and pertinent information to our stakeholders. The awards is testament of Media Prima’s continuous commitment to uphold the highest standards of corporate governance, transparency and disclosure of information.”

Media Prima has been regularly recognised for its commitment in corporate governance including being ranked No. 1 in Malaysia for Best Investor Relations and Best for Disclosure and Transparency categories in the Asiamoney Corporate Governance Poll 2014. The Group was also ranked Top 10 for Best Disclosure amongst companies in Malaysia by the Minority Shareholders Watch Group (MSWG).

Produced in collaboration with Nova Fusion Sdn Bhd, Media Prima’s Annual Report, themed “Closer To You” reflects the Group’s effort to be part of its audience’s lives by continuously investing in relevant and original content as well as adopting latest technologies to enhance its relevance to its audiences. “Media Prima would like to thank all those involved in the production of our Annual Report and believe that the global recognition will further spur the Group to maintain these lofty standards in our future Annual Reports,” concluded Datuk Kamal.
