KUALA LUMPUR, 21 October 2020 – Media Prima Berhad (“Media Prima” or the “Group”) has been notified by health authorities that an employee from Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad (“STMB”) has been diagnosed with the Covid-19 virus and is now under the care of a government hospital.
The affected employee’s family member had been in close contact with a positive Covid-19 colleague at work, and had undertaken the mandatory Covid-19 tests administered by the Ministry of Health (“MOH”). The affected STMB employee had undertaken the Covid-19 test after experiencing symptoms on 19 October, and was confirmed positive this morning.
The affected employee had been on Work From Home (“WFH”) rotation and had not visited any Media Prima premises since 10 October. Media Prima is working closely with health authorities and has undertaken the necessary precautions to minimise potential exposure to other employees. The Group will provide necessary support to the affected personnel. We pray for a speedy recovery.
Media Prima places the safety of all its employees as top priority. The Group is diligently ensuring that all SOPs are in place and adhered to. In response to the Government’s mandate for non-critical employees to WFH starting 22 October, only selected employees from Media Prima will be allowed to work from its premises. Arrangements are being made for these selected employees to undergo the required Covid-19 swab tests.
Notwithstanding, Media Prima’s operations and businesses continue as usual, adhering to the SOPs in place and necessary protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of employees.
