KUALA LUMPUR, 20 May 2020 – Media Prima Berhad (“Media Prima” or the “Group”), Malaysia’s largest and leading fully-integrated media group, announced today that it has launched a new service to share news content on the big screen to commuters around the Klang Valley.

BIG News by NSTP is Media Prima’s newest digital service that delivers live news headlines from The New Straits Times Press (“NSTP”) through the Group’s digital out-of-home media (“OOH”) advertising screens. The latest headlines, taken from NST Online and BH Online ‘Most Read News’, will be updated regularly at selected locations between 7am and 7pm daily. Currently, the live news feed is available at seven locations in Kuala Lumpur, with plans to expand to screens along the KL Monorail, LRT Kelana Jaya Line and LRT Ampang Line, making the total number of screens to 23.

The launch of BIG News, a collaboration between NSTP and Big Tree, is in-line with the Group’s strategy to keep Malaysians informed with the latest news anytime and anywhere. NSTP is home to some of the nation’s oldest and most trusted news brands in print and online. Big Tree is the market leader of Malaysia’s OOH industry with the largest advertising reach through multiple integrated media platforms and extensive inventory across multiple channels.

Group Managing Director of Media Prima, Dato’ Iskandar Mizal Mahmood said: “We always look for creative and effective ways to bring our content to our audiences and new services to our partners. As we return to our routines and realign ourselves with the new normal, digital OOH is a highly efficient tool to reach out to the people. With the launch of BIG News by NSTP, you needn’t be inside or check your mobile phone to get the latest news from verified sources from NSTP through Big Tree’s vast network of digital OOH media around Malaysia.”

“The headlines will be showcased to Klang Valley commuters on-the-go within three time intervals during peak traffic hours. We are also exploring ways for advertisers to be on-board through sponsored content. This demonstrates Media Prima’s strength as an integrated media group that delivers unique services to audiences and total media solutions to advertisers.”
