KUALA LUMPUR, 27 November 2014 – Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad (“TV3”) today announced two new programmes to complement its already strong line-up of news related programming to be broadcast in 2015. The two programmes, Potret Niaga and Dunia Minggu Ini were officially launched by Y.A.B Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Haji Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia at the Putra World Trade Centre on the sidelines of the UMNO General Assembly today.

Potret Niaga, a weekly programme hosted by Azawate Zenol Abidin aims to showcase and promote various forms of entrepeneurship covering various industries and business segments in Malaysia. The 30-minute programme offers up-to-date information on business trends and insights from successful CEOs which may serve as useful guide for aspiring entrepreneurs. The programme will also cover key government policies and create awareness on available programmes supporting entrepreneurship. Other segments also include tips and guides on finance related matters covering topics like fund management and effective cost management amongst others.

Datuk Mohd Ashraf Abdullah, Group Managing Editor News and Current Affairs for Media Prima Television Networks said, “Potret Niaga is a programme that will be of interest to entrepreneurs and those with aspirations to venture into business. Apart from providing useful insights and tips, the programme is also designed to showcase success stories achieved by Malaysian entrepreneurs which TV3 believes will inspire others to succeed”. He added that Potret Niaga is part of TV3’s ongoing effort to assist Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia by giving them a platform to promote their products and services thus attracting customers and potential investors. Potret Niaga is scheduled to go on air every Monday from 5 January 2015 at 6.00 PM.

Hosted by Nor Intan Ezreena Amir Hamzah, Dunia Minggu Ini is a weekly programme that will feature news from around the globe. The 30-minute programme will provide in depth analytical view of global issues from a local perspective. Dunia Minggu Ini contains three main segments, ‘Laporan Berita Utama Sepanjang Minggu’ (weekly roundup of key news), ‘Berita ASEAN dan Seantero’ (ASEAN and regional news), and ‘Segmen Figura’ (figures and personalities).  The Figura segment in particular will feature iconic global leaders and personalities that help shape global opinions and events.

Datuk Mohd Ashraf said “Dunia Minggu Ini complements TV3’s already strong line-up of news related programming, allowing viewers to have a better understanding of global news and events. The programme aims to focus primarily on global issues that have significant impact to Malaysia”. He added that the programme is a continuation of TV3s commitment to provide quality content that is relevant to Malaysians. Dunia Minggu Ini will go on air every Sunday at 8.00 AM from 4 January 2015.

Encik Ahmad Izham Omar, Chief Executive Officer of Television Networks added, “We believe that Potret Niaga and Dunia Minggu Ini will meet our viewers’ expectations for relevant and up-to-date information.  TV3 has always been the go to channel in terms of news in business, politics and global affairs as demonstrated by the popularity of our prime time news programmes like Buletin Utama generates an average of 3 million viewers daily”. He added that viewers will also have the option to also watch these programs via catch-up television option via Tonton, Malaysia’s No 1 video portal with HD-ready quality at their own convenience”.
